Michael Dale | Biography
Michael has been a Partner and Chief Financial Officer at Eastward since 2004 and oversees the firm’s day-to-day operations, including all finance functions and limited partner relations.
Michael was previously the founding chief financial officer at Great Hill Partners. In addition, Michael has held senior financial positions at various companies, including TSDesign (sold to Razorfish), Facilities Resource Management, and Carvel Ice Cream.

Joe DeFilippi

Joe DeFilippi | Biography
Joe DeFilippi is Partner and CFO at Founder Collective, a leading seed-stage venture capital firm. He has been an integral part of the team since 2015. In his role, Joe is responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting, finance, compliance, and operations at the firm. He ensures that the firm's operations support Founder Collective's mission to be the most aligned fund for founders at the seed stage. His work includes managing financial strategy, reporting, and operationally scaling the partnership to help the firm deliver value to all stakeholders. Before joining Founder Collective, Joe held finance and accounting positions at CRV and Eastward Capital Partners, where he gained valuable experience. Joe holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Bentley University and an MBA from Boston University, where he graduated with high honors.

Kelli Finnegan
Harbourvest
Kelli Finnegan | Biography
Kelli Finnegan joined HarbourVest in 2004 and is responsible for oversight of the global Operational Due Diligence (ODD) team. She also has the responsibility of managing the firm’s Corporate Vendor Management Program (CVMP). The ODD team is responsible for evaluating and reporting on the operational controls of potential and existing investment managers across all investment platforms. The CVMP is responsible for maintaining a firmwide vendor program that supports the accountabilities of the lines of business owners, captures relevant vendor data, and delivers meaningful assessments and reporting to stakeholders. In addition, she oversees the project management for operational expansion into other jurisdictions. Kelli has over 25 years of experience in the private equity industry. Kelli’s prior experience includes accounting management roles at BISYS and PwC, focusing on private equity and venture capital clients. She also worked at Fleet Bank in their internal audit team. Kelli received a BS in Accounting from Providence College.

Josh Franklin
SLR Credit Solutions
Bio | Biography
Josh Franklin is the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of SLR Credit Solutions ("SLR CS") and the Chief Financial Officer of SLR Business Credit ("SLR BC"). Headquartered in Boston, SLR CS is a direct lender focused on senior secured asset-based loans ranging in size from $10MM to $150MM for acquisitions, growth, and restructurings. SLR CS was founded in 2006 and has invested over $3B since inception in middle market companies. Josh joined SLR CS at inception as an underwriter and became CFO / COO in 2012. SLR BC is headquartered in Princeton, NJ, provides asset based loans and accounts receivable financing to small and medium sized businesses throughout the United States.
Josh is primarily responsible for all aspects of finance and operations, including financial statement preparation, capital planning, investor relations, IT, human resources, and compliance. Prior to joining SLR, Josh was a Managing Director at Citizens Capital, a provider of private equity and mezzanine loans for middle market companies. Over his career, Josh has served on the board of directors of several companies, including Animation Technologies, AeroSat Corporation, Expresspoint Technology Services, and Avon Automotive.
Josh holds a BA degree in Economics and Spanish from Towson University and an MBA from Babson College. He is also a chartered financial analyst and a CPA.
On a personal level, Josh is the father of three daughters and lives in Essex, Massachusetts. He is an avid hockey and tennis player and a licensed pilot of single engine aircraft.

Rich Joseph

Rich Joseph | Biography
Rich is a Senior Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer for Audax Group, based in Boston. Prior to joining Audax at its founding in 1999, Rich was the Chief Financial Officer of Streamline.com, a publicly traded Internet service company. Rich also was CFO of Software Emancipation Technology, Planet Direct Corp., and ESSENSE Systems, Inc., and was a Senior Manager at Ernst & Young, LLP and a C.P.A. (inactive).
Rich received a B.S. from Boston College School of Management.

Ed Keefe
MC Partners
Ed Keefe | Biography
Ed Keefe has served as CFO and Chief Compliance Officer for M/C Partners for 20 years, overseeing all finance and administration activities, information technology and financial reporting to the Limited Partners. Prior to joining the firm, Ed held a variety of roles at leading investment and accounting firms, including vice president of finance at Atlas Venture; manager of financial planning and analysis at Instrumentation Laboratory; tax Consultant at Coopers & Lybrand (PricewaterhouseCoopers); and senior financial analyst at Raytheon Company.
Previously Ed was President of Financial Executives International (FEI Boston Chapter) and the Treasurers’ Club of Boston. Also, he was a board member of The University of Maine Business School, The University of Maine Foundation, The Bostonian Society, Rebuilding Together Boston and The Emerson Umbrella. Ed received a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in finance from The University of Maine, an MBA from Suffolk University and a M.S. in Taxation from Bentley University.
He lives outside of Boston, enjoys spending time with his family and is an avid Boston sports fan.

Kristen Laguerre
MPM Capital
Kristen Laguerre | Biography
Kristen Laguerre, an accomplished operating executive, is Partner, Finance and Operations at MPM BioImpact. With 25 years of financial leadership and management experience in the venture capital industry, her primary responsibility is to oversee the firm’s finance, operations and administrative functions. Kristen is also an investment committee member of both the MPM BioImpact’s venture fund and its private/public impact fund. Kristen recently served as start-up CFO at portfolio company Renagade Therapeutics and was previously CFO at portfolio company Cullinan Oncology (NASDAQ: CGEM).
Prior to joining MPM BioImpact, Kristen served as Partner and CFO at Flare Capital Partners, and, previously, Partner and CFO at Atlas Venture, an early-stage life sciences and technology venture capital firm. Before Atlas Venture, she was Vice President – Finance at Softbank Capital, where she was responsible for finance, human resources and operations associated with both Softbank’s venture funds and its global investment activities outside of East Asia. Earlier in her career, Kristen spent seven years at Arthur Andersen LLP.
Kristen earned her M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from Boston University and her B.A. in Economics from Wesleyan University.

Erin Mauro

Erin Mauro | Biography
Erin joined Matrix in 2018. As CFO, she is responsible for oversight of fund financial operations and management of internal operations. Prior to joining, Erin was responsible for the outsourced fund administration practice at Dynamo Software (formerly Q-Biz Solutions) where she oversaw a team of fund accountants servicing 17 clients with approximately $8B AUM. Prior to that, Erin held positions with several venture capital and private equity firms in the Boston area, including Greylock and THL Credit (now First Eagle Alternative Credit). Erin started her career as an auditor in the Boston office of PricewaterhouseCoopers. She holds a BS from Bentley College and an MBA from Boston College and is a CPA.
